Hey friends! You’re listening to This Quote Changed My Life, a podcast about intentional action. My name is Tracey and I’m the host of the show! I’m also a Wellness coach based in Australia and am bit obsessed with quotes and mindset, which is why I created this podcast in the first place (lol).

If you’re new, hello! So nice to have you! For my regular listeners, hello to you guys too! I hope you’re enjoying January so far – let me know how you guys are going by popping over to my Instagram @makesunshineco or joining my Patreon community. I’d love to have your support!

This episode’s quote is a continuation of what we were discussing last episode – giving YOUR dream a place in your real life, and then putting into action of making it a reality.

This episode’s quote is – Stop being afraid of what could go wrong, and start getting excited about what could go right.

I think this is a great quote to remember whenever we’re about to start a new project – I think the anxiety of starting something new can either fuel you – or stop you from moving ahead with it. Ever felt this way?

When we think about anxiety and how it creates stories, for some of us the unknown is overwhelming and we make decisions based out of protecting ourselves – which is a totally normal thing. We are built to survive and maybe the new project we have our heart set on just isn’t right for us at the moment. And I think that’s important to say – not every dream that you have is going to be realistic and right for you and your situation. It would be irresponsible for me to tell you to just go ahead, it’ll be okay – because that’s not my job.

I think you WILL know what is right for you – I do think there comes a time in our lives where we trust ourselves to take that step forward and it’s time to give something a go.

When we’re ready to stop being afraid of what could go wrong, and we’re more excited about what could go right.

So how do we get to that point? That point of trust and knowing whatever comes next is going to be okay because you’ve got this?

Well you’re probably not going to like this- but it takes 2 things – time and experience. And a lot of us want things to just be over with, or want success overnight, to be noticed and for it to be easy – but nothing ever worthwhile came easy. Trust isn’t earnt because you wanted it, trust is earnt by working for it. Trust is earnt by testing things out, getting things wrong, trying other things and learning that you coped with the rollercoaster of it all.

Every time you put your foot forward, hand up and you start to make those moves – you’re telling yourself that you trust yourself more than you fear yourself. You can still have that sense of protection and anxiety, but you are smart enough to already have your safety net in place and you are aware of the things you need to do. If you’ve done your research, educated yourself in whatever it is you’re doing, you’ve got this – it’s time for you to do this in your own way now. You’re more capable than you realise, you just need to give yourself the chance to start and to keep it going.

Stop being afraid of what could go wrong, and start getting excited about what could go right.

What could go right? What is your goal? What could be other goals that you might set along the way? How would this change your life? How would you feel if you just started today?

No one can predict what’s going to happen in our future – even with the best of intentions and micro planning, things still have a way of popping up with you least expect it. But we’re able to control our actions and responses to whatever comes our way. And if you need help, ask for it. Look for the people that have some experience already and listen to them for advice. It’s okay to not do this alone – in fact, I want you to be surrounded by the people that understand you and your passion. Who want to cheer for you and want to see you succeed.

So..

Will you let the ‘unknown’ get in the way of an amazing adventure? Or can you let the unknown be a part of your adventure to the top?
